There’s nothing like the thrill of going to see a new movie. The excitement, the entertainment, the smell of the hot, buttered popcorn and the journey that the actors on screen take you on. However, when going to see any flick, there is always a hassle and stress factor as well. From finding parking, to rushing from the concession stand to getting a good seat in the theater. Once you’ve found your seat, the theater is usually too cold, and the chairs can get uncomfortable during some of the longer movies.
Enter iPic Theaters. The number one concern for iPic is to make sure that you are comfortable, entertained and well taken care of. No detail has been spared in this state of the art movie house. Opened in 2011, everything inside is new from the digital surround sound system to the upholstery to the restaurant appliances. That’s right, iPic has a restaurant inside by the name of Tanzy.
Let’s start at the beginning. When arriving at iPic, there is complimentary valet parking. Just drive up, give the valet your keys, and they take care of the rest. No more driving up and down a crowded parking lot searching for a good spot! When purchasing your tickets, you can do so at the theater like normal, at a self-serve ticket kiosk or beforehand online (HERE). One of the great perks of purchasing your tickets online is that you’ll be able to choose your seat. Just like on some airlines, a map of seating will be shown, and you can reserve the seat you want so there’s no worrying about getting neck cramps in the first row!
If you’re doing dinner and a movie, there’s no worrying about going to two separate places. Tanzy serves an amazing cuisine made by talented locals. Lunch, dinner, and late night are served. Everything from salads, to steak, to fish, to street tacos, and Angus sliders are available. You can choose to eat before or after your feature, or take the experience iPic is famous for, and have your “stealth servers” bring your food right to your seat! There’s also a section of the restaurant called Tanzy Express where you can pick up your own plates, candy or popcorn, and serve yourself a glass of wine from the automatic wine dispenser while you’re there. Tanzy by itself is so nice, that reservations are accepted, and is a nice place to go whether or not a movie is also on your mind.
No need to worry about juggling your food and drink, all of the seats have fold up table tops with ample room for your refreshments. At iPic, it’s virtually impossible to have an uncomfortable moment. The seats are cushioned and foot rests fold out, so you’ll feel like you’re watching a movie at home in your favorite recliner. If you’re cold, or just need a little extra cushion, special blankets and pillows are available, and trust us, they’re much better than the ones you get on an airline!
If you’re like me, after a show I like to have a drink with whomever I’ve come with and discuss the movie. Here, iPic has truly thought of everything. Their Salt Lounge is as stand alone for a lounge as Tanzy is for a restaurant. Salt offers small bites of food, and hand crafted cocktails. Adam Seger is a CCP-Celebrity Mixologist, the Salt Cocktail Creator, Trainer, and Tequila Selector. Salt has a selection of over 70 Tequilas and Mezcals, house infused Vodkas and a farmer’s market stock of herbs and produce making old favorites and new creations absolutely top notch. They are as beautiful to look at as they are tasty to drink. While there, you’ll have live DJ’s spinning music for a truly entertaining bar experience. Salt is another place you just might have to come to with or without the movie! With everything iPic has to offer, you just might want to stick around for a double feature, or at least a game of pool in the lounge.
The next time you’re trying to run all over Scottsdale to grab a bite, see a movie, and have cocktails afterward, put away your search engine, review site, and mapping application, and just log on to iPic to get tickets, reserve your seats, and get ready to settle in for a stress-free night, and the most unforgettable movie experience you’ve ever had!
